Artist statement

Trails, impressions marks! From a deep silence within, these impressions appear in the space on the paper. My hand glides along with the colour laden brush or with the delicate tip of the pen, making marks ,writing a wordless text, drawing a forgotten trail, making a stroke which recalls an island or a piece of land suspended in the timeless vastness of the landscape of memory.

This memory is also not from my body or mind but appears on its own, as if sent to me in this moment to manifest as a visible mark so that it can be recognised by the human physical eye. Where is all this coming from I do not know, all I know is that it is very real. More real than what my dynamic eyes can see in the life of fleeting moments that appear and disappear.

This is not a dynamic space, it seems to me, it’s born out of everything and there are no boundaries. It is seamless and not bound in time. There is a communication within it which feels timeless and effortless. There is a silence, as the thoughts come and go and leave their marks behind, recalling moments and stories in time that have once appeared. These marks are for me no marks, as they gently hold the space together and are visible to our dynamic eyes but are actually just a caress and a movement within the vast silence of Universal Space which is without any attributes.
