Artist Statement

Leaving paper for some time, the surface changes to canvas. It feels a bit harder to work on. But challenge accepted! I pick up media like Pumice stone crush and Acrylic paint. The media are water based and so they flow. Everything has to be in the ‘Flow’! 

Infinite possibilities, infinite configurations, infinite choices!  A space which seems empty is filled with only the infinite, which feels so intangible and yet dependent.  Out of the black is born a new life; the white exists because of this void. Each depends on the other for its existence. There is no choice for us of the black or the white. Both depend on the Grey to manifest. It is in the grey that are seen their infinite configurations. But here the grey too cannot boast of being the reason for the Black and the White to exist; for it is because of them that the Grey exists. How dependent are we all the time.

 

As each moment that passes by appears to leave an empty space, it is this dependent arising which fills the space all the time. Here is heard a voice saying ‘Is there anything that really exists?’ All I can catch is the impressions or the marks which seem frozen in time on my canvas; nothing seems to disappear without a trace. Possibilities, configurations, choices move on. All I am left with is this, another present moment!
